Meet the Team Behind Stride Living

Meet Kelli and Emma, the NHS-experienced founders of Stride Living — and find out why they built a preventative independence support service for older adults in West Berkshire.

We get asked a lot: "Who are you, and why did you start this?"

It's a fair question — and one we're glad to answer.

We're Kelli and Emma, two NHS Senior Therapy Assistants with years of experience working across acute hospital wards and community settings in Berkshire. Between us, we've supported hundreds of adults through recovery, rehabilitation and the often-difficult transition back to independent life at home.

That experience gave us something valuable: a clear picture of the full journey. We've seen what happens when people receive the right support at the right time — and we've seen what happens when they don't.

We're living through a significant shift. The UK's population is ageing rapidly, and with that comes a growing reality that too many people face alone. Older adults are increasingly at risk of isolation — losing connections, routines and confidence gradually and often quietly. The impact on health and wellbeing is profound. And yet, for so many people, there is simply nothing in place to help until a crisis forces the issue.

Again and again, we noticed the same gap. People who had finished NHS treatment, or who weren't yet unwell enough to qualify for formal care, but who needed something. A bit of structure. A familiar face. Someone to help them stay active, build their confidence back up, and keep doing the things that mattered to them.

There was nothing filling that space. So we built it.

Stride Living isn't a care agency. It's a professionally informed, lifestyle-led independence service — designed to help older adults stay confident, connected and thriving, before a crisis ever becomes necessary.

What drives us goes beyond our NHS backgrounds. We are passionate about supporting the ageing population and we genuinely love what we do. People tell us we bring warmth, energy and encouragement — and that matters to us, because turning up with the right attitude can make as much difference as any practical support. We believe that with the right people alongside them, older adults can live far better for far longer.

If you'd like to know more about whether Stride Living could be right for you, a family member, or a patient — we'd love to have a conversation.
